UAE to enjoy loyal traveller rebound

  • At least two in five past visitors in the UK, Sweden and Germany intend on returning to the UAE within one year, rising to over half from France

  • Majority of those surveyed who had been to the UAE in the past came for leisure purposes

  • Research is welcome news for the UAE’s tourism, hospitality and leisure sectors 

The UAE, one of the most popular tourist destinations worldwide, will enjoy a rebound in loyal travellers post COVID-19, according to a recent study.

According to the COVID-19 Opinion Tracker by global strategic communications firm Kekst CNC, at least two in every five people who have visited the UAE over the last three years intend to return to the Emirates within the next 12 months.

“Loyal tourists eager to return to the UAE is encouraging news for the UAE economy, as the country kickstarts the tourism industry after the COVID-19 standstill,” Mazar Masud, Director at Kekst CNC Middle East said

“As the British and Europeans start making their travel plans for the year ahead, this is an ideal opportunity for the UAE to showcase its credentials as a popular, safe and fun destination of choice for business and pleasure,” Masud said.

Forty-four percent of people in the UK who have been to the UAE before plan on another visit in the next year, compared to 54 percent from France, the highest amongst surveyed countries.

In Sweden, 43 percent are likely to return to the Emirates while in Germany 40 percent of those who have visited plan a trip to the UAE.

The majority of visitors from the UK (79 percent), Germany (72 percent), Sweden (59 percent) and France (55 percent) who visited the UAE before said they travelled for leisure.

The study for the UAE, which is part of a wider research, was carried out in four countries (UK, Germany, Sweden and France), with 1,000 respondents from each country.
