Dubai top global city to relocate

Dubai has emerged as one among the top three places to relocate, bagging the third spot, according to a new study by comparethemarket.com.au

“If you are planning to uproot to, or even just visit one of our recommendations for your next trip, make sure you have taken out the appropriate travel insurance prior to your departure, to cover you and your belongings for all eventualities,” Compare Market’s digital PR manager Hannah Norton said.

The rankings were based on nine factors. These include:

  • Unemployment rate (%)

  • Monthly salary after tax

  • Mortgage interest rate (%)

  • Monthly living costs

  • Crime rates

  • Healthcare quality

  • Number of attractions

  • Social media posts

  • Flood risk

Based on this, Dubai had a mortgage interest rate of 4.5 percent, with monthly salary after tax totalling up to $4680.28 as living costs amount to $991.35 on average. The emirate is also home to 3681 attractions despite the biggest flood risk at over 20 percent.

The rankings placed Singapore at the top spot, followed by Tokyo and then Dubai. The report also showed Taipei as the most affordable coastal city to live in due to its lowest average monthly living costs in the top 10.
