Airbnb was officially sanctioned by the Dubai Tourism authority in 2016, and Ras Al Khaimah followed suit in January 2018, signing an agreement with Airbnb to promote "new rules and responsible home sharing," seen as the last hurdle to a full-scale launch in the emirate.
Owners planning to rent their properties short-term in Dubai or Ras Al Khaimah need to register with the relevant tourism authorities and gain a permit but there are now licensed specialist companies who will fully manage the property and administer the paperwork required so that overseas and local owners can gain an income from their holiday homes without getting involved in the day to day running. - Emaar will soon release their latest project and they have named it "Collective at Dubai Hills Estate". It is described as a contemporary social hub offering one and two bedroom apartments where residents will be able to use the entire ground floor as their lounge - Expect basic and small apartment sizes with low ticket prices, so maybe ideal for the investor. Perhaps something similar to the UNA project at Town Square - please message me for more information.

- Dubai South is projected to sustain a population of a million, and as an economic platform, it is designed to support every conceivable kind of business and industry creating 500,000 jobs. The gated golf community from Emaar which is a few minutes away from Dubai South Mall, Al Maktoum International Airport, Expo 2020, and the border with Abu Dhabi is my top pick for investment property in the area. I recommend taking a look at the two bedroom apartments which start at AED 1m and the three-bed townhouses at AED 1.5m all on a 57-month payment plan.
- DP still have apartments available within their latest launch located on the banks of the Dubai Canal and alongside the Business Bay Marina. The project is close to a major commercial hub and 5* hotels within a short distance of Downtown and the Dubai Mall. The prices are reasonable for the quality and location with one bed from AED 1m, two beds from AED 1.77m and three beds from AED 3.15m. View the brochure here
