A unique iftar at BOCA with Frying Pan Adventures
If you’re looking for a unique way to try iftar this Ramadan, there’s a special collaboration that you’ll want to get on your radar this month.
Cool Mediterranean restaurant BOCA has teamed up with home-grown company Frying Pan Adventures to lay on a special iftar each evening – to represent the flavours, culture and stories of Dubai.
The team at Frying Pan Adventures has paired up with BOCA chef Matthijs Stinnissen to curate a special menu that pays tribute to dishes from the most popular restaurants in Old Dubai. Frying Pan Adventures organises walking foodie tours of Old Dubai, showcasing the best of local flavours.
And this Ramadan you can check out modern takes on the dishes in DIFC.
The dishes at BOCA put a twist on flavours and techniques from longstanding restaurants. Dishes include wagyu and labneh fatayer with confit garlic aioli, mackeral masgoof with date dibs, baby gem, lime, labneh and confit lemon, BOCA’s take on Iranian kebabs made with lamb flank skewers, black lime, sumac, yoghurt and ras el hanout. There’s also Palestinian dish chilli and sumac stuffed falafel, as well as a slow-cooked Moroccan tagine with 12-hour braised lamb with saffron and lemon preserve.
Sweet tooth? Don’t miss dessert where you’ll get pistachio kunafa rolls with Iranian pistachio ganache and azahar flower ice cream, as well as a saffron and white chocolate crescent.
Along with the delicious dishes, you’ll get water, juice, coffee and tea, all for Dhs160.
A tribute and a mention of the Frying Pan Adventures restaurants that inspire the dishes will be on the menus in BOCA. There’s even a virtual tour you can go on to learn more about the stories.
Frying Pan Adventures has also produced an online spice guide to help you navigate your way through the Spice Souk. The guide will be promoted on the BOCA menu and costs Dhs50 to download. For every ten guides downloaded, BOCA will purchase one for its team to increase the knowledge about all the spices at the Souk.
