Creek Marina: city-harbour getaway to open in Dubai

Emaar will open a city-harbour getaway, the Creek Marina at Dubai Creek Harbour. It will be the premier residential and leisure district of the six square kilometre mega-development.

Creek Marina will offer views of the Downtown Dubai skyline. There will also be the Dubai Creek, the waterfront destination will feature residences, landscaped parkland, gourmet restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.

The Marina is part of Dubai Creek Harbour, a 6 square kilometre development. It is a joint venture of Emaar with Dubai Holding.

Creek Marina is set to open in December this year.

It will be around three-fourth of a kilometre long and about a quarter wide. Creek Marina will have a capacity of over 81 single- and double-berths and will feature a dedicated Yacht Club. The marina will also contain facilities such as fuelling services, upgraded power outlets and pedestal units.

Creek Marina will also offer a range of venues for retail, dining and leisure. A statement by the developers says a promenade will include: “trendy cafes, high-end restaurants, fashion outlets and street-food vendors too.”

The promenade will also feature environment-friendly, sustainable resting shelters.  The shelters are super-thin and lightweight, and require low maintenance thus helping to reduce energy consumption.

Creek Marina will also feature a hotel called Vida Harbour Point. The hotel will have 286 rooms. It will resemble harbour hotels in cities such as Singapore and Shanghai and is scheduled to open in 2019.

Dubai Creek Harbour will feature hotels, green parks and gardens. It will also contain several cultural attractions, canals, parklands and landscaped promenades. Visits can get around using pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, and city bus routes. Preparations are ongoing to accommodate the first residents in Dubai Creek Harbour early 2019.

Last month, Emaar Properties announced plans to build Chinatown at Dubai Creek Harbour.
